4th of July is one of my favorite holidays - who am I kidding, every holiday is my favorite holiday. Mainly because these special celebrations involve the best things in life friends, food and beer. But after a weekend full of bad decisions and trouble, I think it’s time for a detox. stat. and because I’m so over all the red white and blue recipes (sorry I’m not sorry ‘merica) a fresh green juice just seems oh-so right help me get back in the swing of my mermaid thing.

Citrus Siren Potion

Give your weekend hangover a flip of the fin with my Citrus Siren Potion. The green juice is jam-packed with mega nutrients leaving you refreshed and more energized than ever!

So allow me to break it down for ya.

Ingredients

Lemon: When life gives you lemons you might want to think twice before you say, “fuck the lemons and bail.” These yellow fellas have the power to replenish your body, strengthen the liver and give your skin a healthy, rejuvenating glow.

Spinach: Spinach is like the O.G. of power food, containing more nutrients per calorie than any other food on earth. The green machine is good for the bones, its high in calcium and magnesium which is essential healthy bone structure.

Celery: It’s a nervous system soother, helping you de-stress and enjoy a good nights rest. Celery also regulates the body’s alkaline balance, protecting you from problems like acidity.

Ginger: Ginger contains countless healing properties, it fights off nausea, nourishes muscle joints and improves the absorption of essential nutrients in the body. (It also is the perfect remedy for fighting off gas, but we all know mermaids don’t fart.)

Apples: This powerhouse is high in a fab little antioxidant called “quercetin” which prevents damage to essential cells in the body.

Cucumber: Since cucumber is made up of 95% water, it is the perfect way to hydrate your body. They also contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish many essential nutrients.

*Coconut Oil: This little addition is optional, but I like to drizzle that shit on every-thang.

So if you woke up this morning with a case of the Mondays, try starting your day with a little swig of my special potion.

Then, if somehow you’re still feel sluggish from all the weekend shenanigans, try my “sea-cret” mermaid hangover remedy and get salty. Go for a run and sweat out all the nasty toxins, or rejuvenate your body with a quick dip in the water.

xx Fins & Kisses,

The Mermaid.
