Papaya Parfait Breakfast Bowl

You know what I love the first thing in the morning? A big fatty bowl.

Easyyyy my little ganja Mermaid, I don’t think we’re talking about the same kind of bowl here.

But don’t feel bad, because the fatty bowl I’m talking about will complement your wake and bake session to perfection.

All tokin’ jokin’ aside, let’s get down to bowl business.

One of the many reasons I designed The Running Mermaid is to compliment your on-the-go lifestyle, because trust me, I get it— “ain’t nobody got time for that”.

I mean really, some days I barely have enough time to shower, let alone eat a tasty little breaky. However, all that has changed since my latest creation of the Papaya Parfait Bowl.

Papaya Parfait

Papayas are kind of a big deal in Hawaii—and by big deal I mean, they are the only fruits in Hawaii that I can actually afford year round (“help me I’m poor”).

Between rich volcanic soil and beaming rays of sunshine, the islands tropical climate is a farmers paradise when it comes to growing this super fruit.

Papayas are jam-packed with antioxidants and rich in vitamins A, C and E. They also contain a small amount of calcium, iron and bromelain, a powerful enzyme helping with prevention of sports injuries— marathon training anyone?

They’re considered the “fruit of the angels” which is why I eat it, (obvi.) they are also considered one of the healthiest fruits among us and here’s why:

Papaya Benefits

Alright, now that I have you on board with my papaya obsession, let me teach you how to pack a fatty bowl on the fly.

  1. Cut in half & scoop out seeds
  2. Fill with yogurt
  3. Polish it off with your favorite toppings

The bowl I packed was topped with blueberries, granola, chia seeds and honey.

Toppings

Delish is an understatement when it comes to this Papaya Parfait — and like any dank bowl, you’ll be left with a major munchie high, hungry for more.

...and then 30 mins later you’ll be ready for a nap run.

xx Fins & Kisses,

The Mermaid.
